  12. SUPERMAC DEBUTS NEW FLICKER-FREE 19" COLOR MONITORS

  14. Sunnyvale, Calif. — October 30, 1989 — In a significant upgrade to its color
  15. display product line, SuperMac™ Technology today unveiled two new 19" color
  16. monitors that offer flicker-free displays, built-in glare reduction and true
  17. WYSIWYG for Macintosh® users. The two products are the 19" Trinitron® Color
  18. Display, priced at $4,200, and the 19" Color Display, priced at $3,200. The 19"
  19. Trinitron Color Display will ship in November; the 19" Color Display will ship
  20. in December. Both monitors come with a tilt/swivel stand.

  22. "Our goal is to remain on the leading edge of color graphics technology across
  23. the board," said SuperMac president Michael McConnell, "and that means offering
  24. the best monitor technology to go along with our advanced display cards. Both
  25. of these new monitors support the Apple-standard 75Hz vertical refresh rate,
  26. which completely  eliminates screen flicker, and our lower priced Color Display
  27. features new technology and offers better performance than any other
  28. conventional RGB display."

  30. The 19" Trinitron Color Display is a new version of SuperMac's existing
  31. Trinitron monitor. The new model now has a 75Hz vertical refresh rate, for a
  32. totally flicker-free display. The 1024 x 768 pixel display delivers
  33. Apple-standard 72 dots-per-inch resolution for true WYSIWYG operation. The
  34. monitor features a bonded optical panel that significantly reduces screen glare
  35. and enhances contrast without sacrificing brightness, so it reduces user
  36. eyestrain for higher productivity.

  38. The 19" Color Display also measures 1024 x 768 pixels with 72 dots-per-inch
  39. resolution. Its new gun technology, combined with dynamic focus circuitry,
  40. delivers greater brightness and focus accuracy than other color displays. The
  41. 19" Color Display is adjusted to produce a truer white than other color
  42. monitors. Like the Trinitron, the 19" Color Display includes a bonded optical
  43. panel that cuts glare and enhances contrast without reducing the display's
  44. resolution.
